WPVQ “GAS N’ GO” OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES 2010
These are the rules governing the “Gas N’ Go” giveaway on radio station WPVQ. The grand prize is $1000 in gas cards from Sandri Sunoco Gas Stations. The gift cards can not be traded in for cash, and may be used to purchase gasoline only at participating Sandri Sunoco stations.
1. There is no purchase necessary to become eligible to win.
2. To be eligible to win the prize, you must become one of the 95 “qualifiers” who will be entered into a grand prize drawing on or after August 21st, 2010. Each qualifier will be eligible to win the $1000 in gasoline.
3. WPVQ will make a series of appearances at various area businesses between July 3rd 2010 and August 21st, 2010. At each appearance, listeners may fill out a registration form. WPVQ will randomly draw up to 10 names at the end of each appearance. Those names will become qualifiers. These appearances will be promoted on WPVQ ahead of time. Only one entry per person per appearance. And listeners may only qualify ONCE.

Listeners may also qualify by visiting a participating Sandri Sunoco station, and picking up a mail-in registration form. Completed forms can then be mailed to WPVQ, or dropped off at 81 Woodard Rd., Greenfield MA 01301,
before August 19
th 2010. A list of participating stations can be found at
www.bear953.com. WPVQ will randomly select a number of these “mail in” cards on a weekly basis. All cards selected become qualifiers, and qualifiers will be notified by phone. There will also be 6 weekly $100 gas cards given away to random qualifiers. All $100 gas card winners are still eligible for the $1000 grand prize.
5. Grand prize winner will be chosen via a random drawing during the final live broadcast at Sandri Stop Smart in Greenfield on August 21st, 2010, or sometime during the following week.
6. Grand prize winner, if not present at the drawing, will be notified by phone.
7. In the event the winner is subject to or the subject of any order or legal process issued by any government agency having jurisdiction over the affairs of the winner (i.e. garnishment, child support order, judgement, lien, and the like), WPVQ’s delivery of the prize to the official representative of the governmental entity claiming a right to the prize shall be deemed to be awarded to the winner. WPVQ shall be entitled to rely, in good faith, upon any documents presented by the representative seeking to collect the prize in lieu of the winner. WPVQ shall not be liable for any claim by winner for damages incidental thereto.
8. This contest is open to all eligible U.S. residents 18 and over. Contestants must posses a valid I.D. or other means of I.D. acceptable to WPVQ. Saga Communication employees and their family members are NOT eligible to win. Members of WPVQ’s advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, and their families are not eligible to win and no substitute for prize will be awarded. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. WPVQ reserves the right to disqualify any winner if the contest rules have been violated in any way. Contest void where prohibited.
9. WPVQ, Saga Communications of New England, Inc., it’s parent corporation, Saga Communications, Inc., their agencies, employees, and representatives absolve themselves and shall be held harmless from any action or liability arising from the “Gas N’ Go” contest or the prize awarded in said contest.
10. WPVQ reserves the right to interrupt and/or discontinue this promotion, at the discretion of WPVQ management, if world events, the national mood, or public safety so warrant. WPVQ reserves the right to amend these rules at any time. The judges decision is final.
11. WPVQ shall have no responsibility for failure to win or claim any prize based on difficulties with external circumstances.
12. Winner is responsible for all taxes on prize awarded. Winner must fill out the appropriate tax forms at the WPVQ studios, and provide a valid photo ID before receiving the prize.
13. WPVQ reserves the right to use the voice and/or picture of any and all winners for promotional and broadcast purposes.
These are the rules governing all contests aired on radio stations WHAI and WPVQ, owned by Saga Communications of New England.
1. There is never any purchase necessary to enter any contest.
2. To be eligible to win any prize on the station, you must not have won anything from us during the previous 30 days, or any prize valued at $600 or more during the previous year. Some station contests will have specific rules that may amend these eligibility values, and these rules will be aired on the station during said contest. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void and an alternate eligible winner may be named.
3. Anytime you call the station’s studios, you assume that your call will be broadcast or recorded, and you grant us permission to broadcast the call or record it for later broadcast.
4. As a winner of a station contest, your voice, name or picture may be used for promotional, broadcast or internet purposes.
5. Prizes awarded are not redeemable for cash. Prizes are not transferable. No substitution for a prize will be made at the request of the winner. The station reserves the right to substitute a prize of similar value.
6. Winners of contests are responsible for all taxes on prize awarded. Winners of a prize valued at $600 or more will be required to fill out the appropriate tax forms at the station prior to claiming prize.

In the event the winner is subject to or the subject of any order or legal process issued by any governmental agency having jurisdiction over the affairs of the winner (i.e. garnishment, child support order, judgement, lien, and the like), our delivery of the prize to the official representative of the governmental entity claiming a right to the prize shall be deemed to be awarded to the winner. Saga Communications shall be entitled to rely, in good faith, upon any documents presented by the representative seeking to collect the prize in lieu of the winner. The radio stations shall not be liable for any claim by any winner for damages incidental thereto.
8. Contests are open to all eligible U.S. residents. Contestants must possess a valid form of identification bearing the picture of the contestant acceptable to the station.
9. In most cases, winners will be required to claim prizes at the station’s studios, 81 Woodard Rd., Greenfield, MA, between 8am and 5pm any Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Prizes must be claimed within 30 days of winning. Prizes not claimed within 30 days will be forfeited, and may be returned to the station prize pool.
10. WHAI, WPVQ, Saga Communications of New England, Inc., it’s parent corporation, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees, representatives, and immediate families of each absolve themselves and shall be held harmless from any action or liability arising from any station contest or the prize awarded in any contest.
11. Employees of Saga Communications, their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, and immediate families of each are not eligible to win prizes.
12. As a public licensee and a trustee of the public airwaves, WHAI and WPVQ reserve the right to interrupt and/or discontinue any promotion or contest at the discretion of station management if world events, the national mood, or public safety so warrant. We reserve the right to amend the rules of any contest at any time. The judges decision is always final.
13. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Contest is void where prohibited.
14. The station reserves the right to disqualify any winner if contest rules have been violated in any way.
15. For any contest requiring phone entry, you must only the (413) 774-6565 studio number for WHAI; (413) 773-9530 for WPVQ, unless otherwise specified. The person operating the phone at the studio has the final decision as to who is the winning caller.
16. WHAI shall have no responsibility for failure to win or claim any prize based on difficulties with telephone, facsimile machine, internet, or any other circumstances in any station contest.
